Taking in the wonderfully photogenic regions of Provence and Languedoc, we capture medieval citadels, striking fields of lavender and villages with cobbled streets and old stone houses.
Europe is perhaps the most diverse continent on the planet, and provides some of the best locations for photography holidays and tours
Europe is home to some of the world’s very best photography destinations and should definitely be near the top of any photography enthusiast’s travel list. With ancient ruins dotted all over, and centuries-old buildings still standing, there are many superb opportunities for architectural photography. Spain offers Moorish palaces, including the Alhambra which is considered to be one of the most beautiful buildings in the world, and modern masterpieces such as the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Greece and Italy are great for pretty villages, with winding streets and a timeless feel. France can also make a strong claim in the quaint village category, and has spectacularly photogenic medieval towns, while Turkey is all about towering minarets.
The landscape photography is perhaps even more delightful. There are rolling hills, jagged mountains, huge fields of Lavender and Sunflowers as well and breathtaking coastlines all waiting to be captured.
Europe’s people are as varied as its landscapes, and photographing the wizened old faces in a Greek village, or capturing the passion of a Flamenco dancer in Andalucia are definitely opportunities for some special photos.
Northern Europe gives us the opportunity to photograph dramatic icy landscape and wildlife. The fabulous Northern Lights can be captured in both Iceland and Norway, and the Norwegian wilderness is home to the magnificent musk oxen, the only surviving giant mammal from the last ice age.Share this
